Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use LingoSwap. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your profile and for keeping your login credentials secure. One person, one account. Do not share, sell, or transfer your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to: harass, threaten, or abuse other users; engage in sexual or sexually-suggestive conduct, especially toward minors; share illegal content; impersonate other people; record, screenshot, or distribute another user's session without their explicit consent; use the App for commercial solicitation or advertising; attempt to bypass moderation, blocks, or bans. Violations result in temporary or permanent bans.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you create (chat messages, ratings, profile information). By using the App, you grant LingoSwap a non-exclusive license to host and display this content as needed to operate the service. You are solely responsible for what you say and do during sessions.

5. Live Sessions

Live audio and video sessions are not recorded by LingoSwap. However, the other participant may attempt to record. Treat every session as if it could be recorded. Do not share information you would not be comfortable saying in public.

6. Reporting and Moderation

You can block or report any user. Reports are reviewed and may result in warnings, temporary bans, or permanent removal. We may suspend accounts at our discretion to protect the community.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

LingoSwap is currently free to use. If we introduce paid subscriptions in the future, the terms will be presented at the point of purchase and added to these Terms.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your profile and chat history are deleted; session metadata may be retained for safety per the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer

LingoSwap is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that you will find a practice partner, that sessions will be educational, or that other users will behave appropriately. Language exchange depends on real humans; outcomes vary.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LingoSwap and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
